Concert in Karlskrona

” It was a musical delight to listen to the soprano Cecilia Hjortsberg as she sang Summertime

and Michaelas aria from Bizets Carmen.

She expressed such passionate feelings with her strong clean voice.

We would love to have heard more, and the audience was a little disappointed that

Cecilia Hjortsberg did not sing an extra song, even though there was a standing ovation”

Hans und Gretchen by Humperdinck

Role The Witch

I was impressed by the ensemble and with Cecilia Hjortsberg who played the Witch. Her distorted masked face was a big contrast to the clarity and beauty of her voice”

The trial of Tiberius

Role King Augustus

The emperor is played magnificently by Cecilia Hjortsberg. Her voice when she sings the coloratura aria Son qual nave from Broschis Artaserse, is full of range and versatility and her

performance is full of temper”

I would state that Cecilia Hjortsberg has a great capacity as a romance singer. Earlier I have heard her sing classical opera with great skill both vocally and scenically. Now she holds back expressions, tone and vibrato and allows an appropriate amount of warmth to flow through the sentimental melodies”

Osiris by Gottlieb Naumann

Role Isis

A promising exception was the young Cecilia Hjortsberg, who sang Queen Isis with a dark expressive soprano voice...and a coloratura aria that pointed towards ‘the Queen of the night”

Don Giovanni by Mozart

Role Donna Anna

Among the many good singers of the ensemble who should be mentioned is Cecilia Hjortsberg, Donna Anna, who made a great effort. In particular, the aria in the second act with its strong emotions of hope and grief were performed very movingly”

Concert

Cecilia Hjortsberg was the main musical attraction of the evening. The host tried to make the audience sing along but ‘she sang too beautifully.’ It is true Cecilia Hjortsberg sang really very beautifully, not least in her rendition of Desdemonas prayer from Verdis Othello which she recently performed at the small stage (Takkeloftet) at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.”

Othello by Verdi

Role Desdemona

Othellos faithful wife Desdemona, which in Cecilia Hjortsbergs interpretation appeared as a beautiful angelic woman….her singing of the two arias Salce and Ave Maria was mesmerising.”

Ill Tabarro by Puccini

Role Georgetta

The role of the young wife Georgetta is seductively performed by Cecilia Hjortsberg with a

sublime air of sensuality”

“Hjortsbergs voice, wich has almost a mezzo quality, with depth and nuance, proved the most versatile as she switched from opera soprano to pop in both style and body language.”

Balley performance at Rbin Howards Theater in London

An episodoc, ensemble journey through a day in the life of a café contained some pleasing balletic choreography and a knock out soprano Cecilia Hjortsberg who performed two songs in a mongst an electric array of recorded music.

Although danced prettily enough none of the performers-apart from statuesque Hjortsberg-left any lasting impression.
